Thinking of a Career in Real Estate?

How Does Someone Become a Realtor?

In Missouri you can become a real estate salesperson by completing a 48-hour Salesperson prelicense course, completing a 24-hour Practices course and passing the state and national licensing exam. After you are fingerprinted and have had a background check you'll choose a broker to affiliate with and apply for your license within 6 months of the date you passed the exam. As a salesperson you must affiliate with a sponsoring broker. After a minimum of two years experience you are eligible to become a broker yourself.

Is Real Estate a Good Career Choice?

Real Estate is a terrific career choice. It can be hard if proper training isn't present or if you aren't a person with a strong independent work ethic, but it is very rewarding for those who are self-motivated, honest and enjoy networking and helping real people.

Do You Have to Affiliate with Coldwell Banker Gundaker After Attending Their Real Estate School?

No. In fact, you may attend any school, including online schools, and then affiliate with virtually any brokerage. I chose to attend Coldwell Banker Gundaker Real Estate School because it best fit my schedule and I like in-person learning. Believe it or not, I interviewed many brokerages after I passed my exam to be sure that I made the absolute best choice for me by affiliating with Coldwell Banker Gundaker.

I love what I do!
